The Cry of the Halidon is set on the small island of Jamaica where Alex McAuliff and his team are surveying the terrain, under the pretence of an education grant. However, only McAuliff knows the real employer, the mysterious Dunstone PLC.
But there are other parties who know, the intelligence service for one and certain militant groups in Jamaica. Shortly after McAuliff's first meeting with Dunstone’s MI5 pick him up and he finds himself drawn into a world of conspiracy, bugging, intelligence, counter intelligence and death.
The Cry of the Halidon is a fantastic book, once you start reading it you’ll have real problems putting it down. Ludlum has a way of writing that makes you believe in the characters and the situations. And if you like a book to twist and turn then you will be more than satisfied, it keeps you constantly on your feet.
You may be interested to know that "The Cry of the Halidon" originally appeared under the pseudonym Jonathan Rider. This review applies to the revised version published under his own name.
